It was time for some Summer cleaning the other day. I encountered a few planters that needed polishing and freshening up.
Several of them have animal shapes that are appealing in different ways. Throughout the years, most planters or decorative art presented the animal form as a decorative accent with the flower container separate from the figural design.
For awhile, though, the animal, itself, was fashioned into the planter container. This fashion of placing the plant opening in the middle of the animals’ backs seems almost gruesome in concept. So to create an arrangement that doesn’t seem grotesque, is a challenge.
The life-size Blue Jay has been presented in an earlier post, but for this appearance, I found more subtle flowers and have integrated it into a kitchen table centerpiece.
I hope you enjoy these idea starters for your own collectables.
