Some Themes …Floral Friday

I enjoy doing some small special things on Equinox Day.  Since the event coincides with Floral Friday, the special things I want to do for the blog are theme centered arrangements. The containers easily dominate the themes for each effort.


Several years ago, Teleflora came out with a limited edition automotive promotion. I’m still looking for the Corvette planter, but the T-Bird and the Cadillac made it to my shelf.  The Caddy gets the nod for today’s project. I kept the design quite simple for the redux.  Shades of purple are nestled in a bed of miniature eucalyptus twigs.

removal of the crusty lime deposits, the steeplechase themed planter is now in good condition again. To offset the rich purple glaze, I decided to use only greens and no flowers.  The result is a blend of faux leaves and tall, dried natural elements.

I saved a special vessel for last. Shakyamuni Buddha graces this vintage vase from Thailand that used to belong to my late step-mom. An elegant, simple, Asian inspired styling is the perfect compliment for this addition to my personal shrine.
