Dômes …Floral Friday

Dome shapes have been created by humans since prehistoric times.  This basic design looks both ancient and ultra-modern, depending on its place and elementals.  Some experts think that early humans constructed domes to emulate the protection of the sky.  Of course, the sky appears to us as an all encompassing dome.

I decided to work with this primary design for today’s offerings to you.

A vintage blue-grey urn supports a subtle dome shaped arrangement of pastel colored roses. This almost formal dome reflects a timeless style.

The globular shaped California Pottery yellow planter reflects the rounded shape of the flowers and greenery it contains.  This is a study of balance between vitality and calm.

Warmth is reflected from the amberina compote bowl. The red-orange daisies complete the formal appearance with contemporary flair.

mini-moiThe Blue Jay of Happiness likes this quip from R. Buckminster Fuller:
“…Just give me a home,
In a great circle dome.
Where stresses and strains are at ease.”
