It’s a happy surprise to come across flower planters that have some sort of special theme in the shapes and designs. Most of them are one-offs designed for impulse buying in retail shops. The ones I have are all impulse purchases from thrift stores. They’re fun to clean up, fun to fill, and fun to see.
Tractor planters are rather rare, as far as novelties go. This example by Enesco of Japan is in like-new condition. Naturally, the tractor calls for a rural cluster of late summer blooms.
At first glance, I thought the creature depicted on the small planter or toothpick holder was a bear. Upon closer examination this very old novelty shows a dog wearing a coat. All I could fit into it are three artificial fill flowers.
I thought I saw a puddy cat! Who could resist a Sylvester and Tweety planter? A posy of yellow blooms that are almost cartoon-like continue the light-hearted theme.
