Big Fakes …Floral Friday

My pal Jorge dropped by this week for a visit. I just happened to be in the process of reorganizing a closet and inspecting the winter coats, caps, and gloves for the upcoming nippy weather. That’s when he spotted the stash of plush flowers.

“Why don’t you display these?” He picked up a large rose made of fabric.

I answered that I hadn’t thought about it. I pointed to an empty Haeger “tulip” vase that was on a shelf. “Go ahead and do something with that container.” So Jorge carefully straightened the wire stems and created a simple trio.

After my friend left, I noticed a bag full of excellent fake sunflowers to also use. The whole batch just fit into a Haeger ewer pitcher floor vase.

I decided to include in today’s post a large polyester fake that I had photographed a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I cleaned, straightened the petals then fitted  it into a vintage K-Mart planter that made the flower suitable for the desk in the music room.

The Blue Jay of Happiness likes this snippet from Vaudeville star Bert Williams: “I named all my children after flowers. There’s Lillie and Rose and my son, Artificial.”
