This month seemed to get a late start this year if the beginning of April is judged by present Nebraska weather patterns. We still had blizzard conditions in parts of the state half-way through the calendar month. Our non-snow days felt more like those of March than those that belong in April.
Personally speaking, the mood of springtime was postponed until a later date. This feeling has been reflected in the arrangement styles of this month’s projects for Floral Friday.
The aqua tone glaze of the Royal Haeger “leaf” vase is enhanced by blue blooms. There is a balance between contemporary casualness and formal form here.
A luxurious vintage art glass vase from Japan looks good when displayed either filled or unfilled. For today, an orchid centered display fit this month’s mood.
An intricately decorated brass vase from India holds hand made paper blooms. They share space with dried stems enhanced with gold spray paint. The result is an arrangement that works for any season of the year.
