Small Arrangements …Floral Friday

The idea today is to construct small floral arrangements within the limited confines of bud vases. The biggest obstacle to overcome is to use multiple elements without the entire composition appearing top-heavy.

Good visual proportions were easiest with this stainless steel vase. Also, the purples work well with the gleaming metal.

The Ikea vase’s broad base with the addition of heavy vase filler stones provide stability for this radical combination of miniature lilies and a gerbera daisy.

Art pottery bird vases are usually only destined for knick-knack shelves. Not so for this magpie bud vase. Cool-toned blooms and evergreen are intuitive choices here.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes Jean Cocteau. “Style is a simple way of saying complicated things.”
