Collectable Planters …Floral Friday

Some mainstays of floral work are ceramic planters and pots. The shape, color, and age of the container help set the mood for each particular arrangement. Today, I have three different types of planter containers that influenced the projects.

Small vintage McCoy wishing well planters are still fairly easy to find in antiques shops. They have the slogan, “Oh Wishing Well Grant A Wish To Me” inscribed around them. A handful of small, faux blooms adds some color to the vessel.

The contemporary snail planter is a thrift store find from the fifty-cent shelf. The neutral colored container makes a whimsical base for a trio of sunflowers.

The brand new mustard yellow pot and saucer set was made in Germany. A complimentary color is green. In this case a tall cactus and a succulent work to make a bold display.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes John Lennon. “Love is the flower you’ve got to let grow.”
