Various Materials …Floral Friday

There are many reasons that cause vase collectors to more fully enjoy our hobby.  They include colors, shapes, and sizes. Another important factor is what material is used in the container construction. Today, we have three examples of vases made from different materials.

Polished stainless steel has a clean and simple aesthetic to the eye. It is responsible for the ultra-modern appearance of the stylized bottle vase. To add warmth and contrast, organic, autumn-toned floral elements have been used for this project.

Spiral details on the purple Haeger ceramic vase give the container real pizazz. A contemporary blended arrangement works well with the unconventional pottery vase.

A crystal drinking glass is the foundation for a sand painting container that can be used as a vase or a candle holder. A standard votive cylinder was glued to the inside of the glass, then an abstract scene made of various colors of sand was poured and created between the glass and the votive, then sealed around the top. Small faux floral elements provide the finishing touch.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes former Republic of China President Chiang Kai-shek. “There are three essential factors in all human activity: spirit, materials, and action.”
