Green Elements …Floral Friday

This has been one of those weeks that I really want to break out of the box in practically every way. Regarding the Floral Friday projects, this urge went in the direction of greens with no flowers. It’s been quite awhile since I last worked on such arrangements.

A mid 20th century “swung bowl” by Viking Glass makes a brilliant statement on its own so a dramatic presentation of mixed types of leaves was needed to balance the bright orange of the container.

A vintage Robinson Ransbottom jardinière in the Sun and Moon pattern contains a pair of cacti to make an unconventional statement along with a whimsical bulldog figurine as a counterpoint.

The stoneware bowl with cast iron stand was inspired by ancient artisan artifacts. The grasses and succulents are surrounded in a bed of fragrant potpourri.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes 17th century Spanish writer Pedro Calderon de la Barca. “Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.”
