Pitcher Solitaires …Floral Friday

There is a sense of calm and “centeredness” we feel with simplicity that we often don’t find in today’s complex society. So, for the last of this month’s Floral Fridays, I decided to keep things simple. Today’s theme is solitary blooms in pitchers. It’s simple yet unconventional.

A mid-century USA Pottery chartreuse bud vase sports a scarlet Gerbera. The accents are succulents and dried grasses.

The coal-black McCoy pitcher vase is sturdy enough to contain a hefty sunflower without tipping over.

A golden chrysanthemum dominates the peach with gold trim Holley Ross ewer pitcher style bud vase. Dried vertical pieces contribute an unconventional note.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes the Ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. “I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.”
