Tres Tríos …Floral Friday

You might say today’s Floral Friday projects are three on three, or are three projects with trios as the overall theme. Although the number three is an odd number, in physical form, it’s sturdy and stable. Think of a three-legged ottoman or a photographer’s tripod. Three is simple solidity.

Oddly enough, the first project’s foundation is a double opening “Red Wing” modernistic vase manufactured in 1951. Three rust-colored Gerbera daisies fulfill the trio theme. There are also three varieties of flowers in this vase.

The vintage three-opening vase was made in Taiwan. The composition is basically three rose solitaires.

The third project takes three to a more literal, discrete definition. We have three contemporary stainless steel vases of three different sizes. The openings are only wide enough to hold single stems. I couldn’t resist using compound umbels as the floral elements.

The Blue Jay of Happiness ponders Confucius. “Wisdom, compassion, and courage are the three universally recognized moral qualities of men.”
