Variations For March …Floral Friday

Three slightly different moods influence three different arrangements  this week. None of them included flowers. The projects were all about content, form, and state of mind.

The vintage Frankoma jet-black urn planter is all about raw, stark survival. Cacti and succulents represent endurance against all odds.

Bamboo in the Napco cube planter represent the plenitude of life in the tropics. Bamboo manifests in abundance.

The Hotai figure beside the organic elements encourages joy and inner awakening. The use of an Ikebana dish and turquoise sand impart a Zen-like state of mind.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes musical composer Johannes Brahms. “I sometimes ponder on variation form and it seems to me it ought to be more restrained, purer.”
