Blues …Floral Friday

I was in a blue mood this week. My emotions were happy, but my eyes were craving the color blue. This often happens after over-indulging in bright orange. It also tends to recur in August when heat waves and muggy days predominate. Blue just fills the color bill.

This week, that craving led me to the supply shelf to search for blue art glass. All three projects feature blue with other colors.

The faux Art Deco frosted glass vase looks chilled. It’s filled to the top with an arrangement inspired by post-modernism and Space Age chic.

Viking Glass was known for their work with rich colors. This flower bowl is a good example of using a dark color to great benefit. To shine light through the glass reveals the pristine craftsmanship of the product. A succulent plant anchors this Ikebana-inspired arrangement.

The cobalt blue glass urn contains this d’inspiration expérimentale contemporary statement.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes 20th century novelist, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette. “There are connoisseurs of blue just as there are connoisseurs of wine.”
