Plantings …Floral Friday

Earlier this week, I spent some quality, creative time with projects that have gotten dusty and scraggly. This time of the year I like to refresh the potted projects with fresh dirt or sand. I can also redo one of the container gardens. I have three of these refreshed projects to show off this week.

I like the combination of a young banana plant with an old jardinière. This container is a bona-fide antique Hager that was manufactured in approximately 1920. Add some moss as a finishing touch and the project is good to go.

The German flowerpot has been transformed into a mini container garden for a cactus and a succulent. The addition of tiny faux flowers provides extra visual interest.

A Hager cube planter provides a geometric counterbalance to the random array of bamboo. Light and shadow play off of bamboo for interesting visual effects.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes film director, Anurag Prakash Ray. “If someone throws a stone at you, throw a flower at them. But remember to throw the flower pot with it.

  1. Those shadows bring the bamboo scene into a different realm.

The bamboo and shadows are lovely, so many patterns.
