Modern Style …Floral Friday

Now that the September Equinox has announced the beginning of a new season, I’m ready for a floral change of pace. No, not the usual autumn leaves displays. I’ve been yearning for arrangements with a modern flair. Today’s examples were created with a vital, contemporary vision in mind.

The USA-manufactured, high-polish stainless steel compote dish serves a dome of brilliant blooms. The composition will highlight the kitchen table.

A few summer flowers make the seasonal transition inside of a sky blue ultra-modern glass vase.

The California Pottery Ewer pitcher-vase ushers in a subtle display with drip glaze details over cobalt-blue. Floral shapes and colors are toned down in an effort to harmonize with the container.

The Blue Jay of Happiness quotes Scottish academic, author, and journalist, Ali Smith. “People tend to see modernism as the opposite of a celebration. They see it as a fracturing and an art built round an absence, but it’s really a celebration of our existence.”

Absolutely stunning. The colorful flowers against the black vase’s are exquisite.

  2. They’re all nice but the first one is so unusual and eye catching. I love it!
