Some Succulents …Floral Friday

Succulents and cacti have long been some of my favorite plants.  They’re fascinating because of their ability to thrive in harsh, dry conditions.  I love their shapes because they look so other-worldly.  They work nicely as accent plantings for either indoors or outdoors because they need very little maintenance.  Succulents and cacti also look best alone or with very little adornment from other plants.

I can’t think of a better use for the dump truck planter than for it to hold one of my large cacti.  Add stones to emphasize the “working” aspect of the truck.

Why not use a glass cube for a succulent? This is rarely done, so the combination of useful, visual components come together as an eye-pleasing composition.

The chartreuse bowl was manufactured by a domestic company called “Greek Pottery” I know nothing about the company except that they were in business in North America.  The most striking quality of this container is its abstract motif. The combination of a cactus with a spindly succulent and fill flowers work well with the container.

mini-moiThe Blue Jay of Happiness knows that pondering cacti and succulents brings understanding about patience.
